Tampon question(yes, I said tampon). Help?

I have a box of tampax. Not the pearl kind, just the regular tampax. Is it a good brand? I have to go swimming for the first time tomorrow with a tampon and i'm so nervous that I'll leak infront of my family:( I need any advice you have. PLEASE.
