GIRLS HELP ONLY! HATING MOTHER NATURE!?

Okay, this is quite embarrassing, but I'm a determined girl! I am 16, and trying to use tampons. So I've tried about...five times in the last two days. And I've tried in the past, but it was a no go. I try pushing it in but It just STOPS! I will not go any farther and its not even halfway, and then if i move it around to get different angles, it hurts! I need the BEST advice to make this bugger go in! Please help me!
