I'm 11 years old and I'm really scared that I'm going to get my period?

I'm 11 and I'm really scared that I'm going to get my period and I don't live with my mom...she lives a while away and I never get to talk to her so I live with my dad and I don't know what to do!!! I have been getting discharge lately and im scared that I'm not gunna like wearing tampons!! some one please help
